I have lived in Werrington for over 40 years and am a retired Ward Manager who came to the WI late in life. Having attended a fashion show staged by my neighbouring WI in 2014, I was so impressed by the warmth and friendliness of the welcome I decided to join.
The chance to be a delegate at National Conference introduced me to the wider Federation. The experience and enthusiasm of the delegates persuaded me to apply to be a Trustee.
Sadly, ill health and major surgery in 2019 meant I had to resign from the Board, but now, fully recovered I have been welcomed back to the fold with open arms and have picked up again my place on the Events Team. My main hobbies are singing and gardening – something I did a lot of during lockdown.
